I Have A Question

I wrote a post about this very topic a few days ago and I was met with some hostile responses from the Obama supporters. I wrote, "America in 2008 is a downright mean country" Just words? "America has an empathy deficit" Just words? Both were stated by Michelle Obama as she continues to obsess over America's more negative moments. It almost seems like she has this weird infatuation with how "mean" and "horrible" America is. She paints America with such a broad brush it should insult the majority of Americans that do care, that spend time in their communities trying to make a difference.

One Obama supporter told me that Michelle Obama is patriotic for bashing America and Ronald Reagan was the biggest America hater because he appealed to our better angels and saw America as a great hope. Say again?

Despite what Michelle Obama says or wants people to think about America, we aren't some cold hearted nation that let's people starve and rot in their difficult circumstances. Just because we won't allow our government to pick up the tab and coddle the citizens of this country doesn't make us horrible people. If that's all she's crying for, more government control over our lives then she needs to step away from the podium and walk away. Americans don't want a babysitter or someone feeling sorry for them or talking down to them as if they don't know any better. We're guided by our ability to look within for hope and guidance. Michelle Obama preaches to the crowd, "Barack can solve your problems, he will make you work" Unlike Obama supporters who obviously lack a sense of security and belonging, the rest of Americans don't depend on a man they barely know for self-worth and empowerment.

We're taught as children, we can do whatever we want and be whatever we want to be if we work hard and do unto others in a respectful manner. We don't need a politician with a messianic aura to give us the green light to dream and strive for greatness. That my friends is something we each hold within ourselves as individual spirits and minds. Michelle Obama wants us to buy what her husband is selling. Dreams that are out of reach, locked in a box, inside Barack Obama's White House, and only he can open that box and hand us those dreams because he holds the key. Well sorry to burst the Obama's bubble but I hold the key to my own dreams and aspirations.

This isn't change we can believe in, it's change that binds us, rationed changed with a contract we sign saying our lives are out of our hands and only Barack Obama can determine whether or not we dream big and have hope. Barack Obama's underlining messsage beneath the sweeping serenade of his speeches is, "I am change, only I can bring change, if I am not president then all your hopes and dreams will die and no one will ever be able to achieve what they set out to achieve or bring out profound change"

By the way, you mentioned that you wrote a similar article a few days ago, but you don't say where. I suspect somewhere like KOS, but it would help if you were more specific.

"One Obama supporter told me that Michelle Obama is patriotic for bashing America and Ronald Reagan was the biggest America hater because he appealed to our better angels and saw America as a great hope."

Reminds me of that Orwell story that the libs are always accusing us of wanting to implement... right is wrong, good is bad, etc.

Sorry by ClarkKent

I actually wrote it on Facebook. As for KOS well, like many Hillary supporters I was so disgusted by the vile bias vomit on that site, and the disrespect I just left the site and never looked back. It's a shame how people try to shut you up for having a view that differs from theres. I'm not a conservative or a Republican but I would like to think that no one here will do to me what they did to me and many others at the Dailykos. When I told them I was a moderate they called me a Conservative troll, when I told them how I left the Democratic party to become an Independent they called me a Republican troll.

I guess Liberal elitism rings true online. How sad.

Don't worry by MGamo

about that here. Although 95% of us on this site are conservative Republicans here, we do respect others' viewpoints as long as they are respectful and insightful. No slander, swearing or attacking you for having a separate point of view. That's the beauty.

are welcome here and in our party if you choose to see reason 8*).

And if you hang around a bit, I think you'll find we conservatives aren't as mean and nasty* as the Kosacks would have you believe.

*Just don't expect us to accept statements unsupported by fact without a serious argument. And disagreeing with you isn't mean. It's corrective. 8*)

We could hardly be as bad as they make us out to be

Oh if this doesn't prove the left is fundamentally humorless I don't know what does.

Just so we can let welfare "wither on the vine".

I'm impressed.

And I guess they didn't understand that "death by litigation" isn't a literal death. Maybe the words were just too big for them.

I was trying to find some links I used in a post here (WHY OH WHY WAS THE SEARCH TOOL REMOVED ?) and found myself.

Not only lacking in humor, but bereft of analytical imagination. Of course, becker did say (perhaps) that he was serious.

I think "death by litigation" is a great punishment for congresscritters.

It's a joke, Kossaks. We know how you love litigation.

Say, wasn't it a liberal icon who suggested that Justice Thomas should be fed fatty foods so he could die of heart trouble or cancer? And not joking, either?

I hope you are welcome. by swamp_yankee

I hope you are welcome. Sometimes its a little rigid around here with the "get in line" mantras. I like debate.

By the way, I glad some Dems got a taste of real media bias. Liberal media bias is real and dangerous. One greta irony of this campaign is that Obama is to Hillary what Bill was GHW Bush. Now Obama is doing to Hillary what Bill did to George. They both were liberals protected by the media. Its fun to for us to watch the real Bill Clinton epxosed. He was always this bad. Now the media isnt proping him up anymore because they got Obama to protect.

People like Rush and Bill O'Reilly are symptomatic of any right wing influence in the media. They represent views that about half of America shares. What is dangerous is how the liberal media establishment is threatened by them.
