My Conversation with Obama(this really happened)

I received a phone call last night from the Obama campaign and I wanted to share what happened with everyone. It was classic. The caller said that he was calling from the Obama campaign and was wondering if I had picked someone to vote for for our June 3rd primary(I live in Montana, the last state to vote this year in the parimaries). I told him I had not made a decision yet, and he proceeded to tell me how wonderful Obama was a what a great president he would be.
The I started asking questions, that I already knew the answers. I asked him about drilling in Alaska in ANWR, he said Iraq was the problem(Yeah, I didn't get that either. Iraq was the answer he gave me on a couple of other questions as well.)
Then I asked him why Obama is in favor of late-term abortion, the guy told me that Obama had the pro-life beliefs that alot of Republicans do, but still believes in a woman's right to choose(Here in MT, you can't even get elected dog catcher unless you are pro-life)
He then told me that all would be resolved if we just got out of Iraq. I asked him if he believed if he thought Al Qadea was in Iraq, he said no. I asked him again more emphatically and he changed his mind and agreed that they were in Iraq. I asked whether he would rather fight Al Qadea there or in Montana. He said that Al Qadea would never come here.
I was shocked. I told him that they were already in America, and that we needed to build the fence to protect ourselves. He said the fence is not needed.
I asked him about Obama's position on gay rights. He said he didn't know. I ended the call by telling him that since I am a Republican, and that McCain will be our candidate, that I was not sure if I was going to vote, but if I did vote, I would vote for Hillary since I am proud member of Operation Chaos! He ended that call sheepishly and hung up.
People this is what we are fighting. Bob Dole said in 1996 that Bill Clinton was not his enemy but his opponent. Folks, we do have an enemy this time, and it is the blame America/Bring the troops home before the job is done group.
We must fight this battle, because our families are worth, our lives are worth, AMERICA IS WORTH IT!
Libs have guilty consciences and want the troops home because it makes them face their own weak-kneed character traits?
I think you are right and it makes sense, but I never would have come to that conclusion in a million years.

Working in DC I see a lot of uniformed military about. I also see a lot of the code pinkos floating here and there. When you look at someone in uniform standing next to one of these idiots it is obvious. Watch the body language of those anti-war dopes when next to a soldier when they are by themselves and don't have the support of group think. It is like watching a flower shrivel in the summer heat. You can see it all over their face and their posture. To be sure they are feeling bad but they don't understand why -- they just want the government to make it stop so they can feel good about themselves.

that want to bring the troops out of Iraq constitute the majority of the electorate
do I fall into the majority of electorate?
Ask any military family -- do you want your family member home. Yes of course. I want them to come home with success --not in defeat.
It is not a homogeneous majority. You can't stop at the question -- Do you want the troops home from Iraq?
Under what circumstances is the key.
Those who want them home even if ... it means defeat, civil war in Iraq, AQ strengthen and emboldened back into attacking on US soil.
Sort of asking someone do you want a million dollars -- 100% yes. Will you kill you child for a million dollars? Will you bomb a school full of children for a million? Will you rob a bank for a million?
The devil is always in the details.

I think many liberals think the Iraq war should've never happened. Many of them also think that Bin Laden is not in Iraq. They can't understand why we are in Iraq when we could have possibly found Bin Laden by now, if only we weren't so distracted. It seems like you are searching for any possible reason you can think of to denigrate "lefties".
I will grant you that a person can have a legitimate opinion on the Iraq war, but the Bin Laden thing is a silly talking point.
We had just the number of troops and intelligence units in Afghanistan as our military thought we needed. He gave us the slip and went to ground in Pakistan where we cannot get him unless we violate their territory.
There is no evidence at all that Iraq war or not anything would have happened differently in Afghanistan.

Shouldn't the press be asking Obama his timetable for withdrawing all our troops from Afghanistan? MoveOn doesn't see that as being any different than Iraq right?
I have a father with missing body pieces missing from combat who wants the troops home now. He has 4 brother, 3 of which saw combat, who want the troops home now. Between them, are several purple hearts and medals of honor (including 2 bronze stars)
Careful who you call coward. \
"Broadly speaking, liberalism emphasizes individual rights and equality of opportunity. ... including extensive freedom of thought and speech, limitations on the power of governments, the rule of law, the free exchange of ideas, a market or mixed economy,
the guy told me that Obama had the pro-life beliefs that alot of Republicans do, but still believes in a woman's right to choose
I don't know about that... considering his stances on school vouchers, Social Security reform, tax reform, and a whole host of other issues, it becomes manifestly clear that he doesn't support a woman's right to choose. He supports a woman's prerogative to kill her unborn child, but his "right to choose" credentials are pretty weak.
Yes, I know that's not what the politicians are wanting you to get out of "right to choose", but the difference is that the average right-leaning libertarian like myself is far more "pro-choice" than pretty much any NARAL member is, regardless of one's stance towards abortion as a policy prescription.
Maybe I should try taking back "pro-choice" from the pro-abort crowd in the same way I proudly call myself a liberal... (and, in a parallel universe, maybe the New York Times would interview me as a "pro-choice liberal" upset with both Obama and Clinton as candidates... okay, maybe that's pushing my luck)

Obama's SOOO good, he can take BOTH sides of the intractable Abortion Question! Brilliant! Make that man the President! Just don't think about his statements, you might have too may "distracting" questions.
that libs say they want abortion to be "safe, legal, and rare", which translates into "unlimited abortion on demand at any time for any reason".
Obama didn't have Lincoln Chafee (aka Linc the Stink™) calling you like he did me

I'm thinking doing the same thing to campaign workers and lefty polsters that some people do to Nigerian email scammers. If any libs call me, I'm thinking of just talking to them for as long as I possibly can. I'll have to think of some good stories and make up a point system to see who can keep the lefty phone operator on the phone the longest. One of my favorite examples of keeping someone on the phone is from the Bob and Tom Show

I strongly believe the constant crys to bring the troops home comes mainly from those who would never volunteer to serve in the military, would head for Canada if a draft ever returned (no it won't), and the side by side comparison of a typical member of the volunteer military and these far left screaming hordes is impossible. These lefties know there are lesser beings, lesser in character, in integrity, in service -- their contributions are laughable in comparison. So the only way to stop their feeling bad about themselves is to bring these troops home -- and denigrate the military until then.
Again, with liberals it is all about them feeling good about themselves. The only way for a liberal to feel good about themselves is if the government makes us all equal.
