NM Senate Poll (It Looks Lost)

A new http://www.surveyusa.com/client/PollReport.aspx?g=8873e7c5-a311-44e2-b01... poll in New Mexico's U.S. Senate race finds Rep. Tom Udall (D-NM) defeating either Rep. Steve Pearce (R-NM) or Rep. Heather Wilson (R-NM) by a nearly identical margin. Udall beats Pearce, 60% to 36%, and tops Wilson, 61% to 35%.

Key finding: 1 in 4 Republicans cross over and vote Democrat; 1 in 10 Democrats cross over to vote Republican.

In the GOP primary next month, Pearce edges Wilson, 49% to 46%, within the survey's 4.8 point margin of error.

I hate to say it but NM looks about as lost for us as Virginia. Its such a shame Heather Wilson looked to be such an attractive candidate for us after holding that tilted Dem seat.

I want to be wrong more then anything

Who is best Republican to take on Udall?

Pierce by RandomGuy

He's lower profile, which is a good thing. Wilson is controversial, especially after the stupid U.S. Attorneys thing. Pierce can write his own narrative.

He also gets a higher-percentage of Latino voters in his district.

That said, that's a guess. Wilson is from the more swing district, which usually makes for the better candidate.

Everytime I see a post from you here on RS you're crowing about the defeat of a Repub. or pointing to some poll and telling us how hopeless a race is.

Are you the official defeat monger of RedState? I am well aware of how tough this election is going to be and becoming tired of you gleefully telling me about it.

Oh, don't lecture me on sticking my head in the sand. Like I said, I know already.

Notice to All - I am an independent who has voted for Senator Bayh (Democrat) and Senator Lugar (Republican) along with over 60% of my state. You may take what I say with a grain of salt at your own party'

You're right by Cowboy

However you at least you claim to be independent while did1717 has tried to pass him/her self off as conservative and can't wait to bring up as much bad news as he can.

Rubs me wrong.

How many Congressional updates have you given us Cowboy? Now zip it!

I said I was sick of hearing you cry the sky is falling.

Zip it? Good advice for you sonny boy.

Your updates are being ignored at this point because nobody believes you have our best interests at heart.

I suppose one should live in la la land and only post the positives then and ignore the facts the Republican party needs a reality check and reorganization.

I was one of those who did not think 06 would be that bad for us and boy was I wrong.

It's simple: Nobody's buying what you're selling. Taking in attitude won't change that.

of a contested primary on one side and a united party on the other. I think this will be down to 15 once the primary is over.
