Further Proof That God Is A Conservative

Thursday, May 15, 2008, has been an excellent day for Republicans.
At home, the California Supreme Court ruled that gay marriage must become law, thereby promoting the issue of judicial activism from the back burner of American politics to the front burner. In swing states like Ohio and Florida, huge majorities oppose gay marriage. Thanks to four left wing California justices, those voters must now take the issue into serious consideration when casting their ballots for president. The matter of United States Supreme Court appointments will doubtlessly play a starring role in the presidential debates, which is great news for John McCain.
Abroad, President Bush raised the issue of appeasement, the very mention of which causes terrified Democrats to howl like vampires being dragged into the sunlight. Since Vietnam, appeasement has been the electoral Achilles heel of the liberal movement. Democrats have lost more elections on this topic than all others combined, and now the appeasement issue has returned with a vengeance. The reason that Obama, Pelosi, and Company responded hysterically to the very mention of the term confirms that the Democrats realize their unfortunate proclivity towards surrender constitutes electoral death. Let our liberal friends accuse McCain of citing appeasement to trumpet false patriotism...whenever the issue between McCain and Obama is who embodies true patriotism, the Democrats are screwed.
Just when many Republicans were becoming pessimistic, a miraculous coalition of liberal jurists and a conservative president have combined to alter the public debate, thereby putting the Democrats on the defensive.
Much obliged, God. And please say "Hi" to President Reagan for me.
