re: Ben's RedHot on John Sununu - It's Not Just Washington That Needs Work

Thanks for pointing that out Ben. New Hampshire has shifted from a conservative state to a Liberal quagmire with a large influx of liberals from the Boston area. Heh, they really enjoy the low taxes, gee, no kidding.
When the first New Hampshire Republican debate was being held there, we sent Alex with reporters credentials to cover both the Democrat and Republican debates. In the process of inquiring about who was issuing the credentials, I contacted the State GOP office and they had no clue who was issuing them!
I received my answer elsewhere, but dug deeper into the state party office. It is a complete shambles. Their website (at that time) hadn't been updated in months and there was absolutely NO mention of the impending debate, nothing.
I own a home there, so I keep an eye on the state, with regard to retirement and I live in New York. I can tell you that here as well, our state leadership is clueless.
I agree with Erick's assessment, 2008 is lost again, we will probably come out even further down in the pile.
Yes, we need leadership in Washington, of that there is little doubt, but as individuals, we can effect a change locally much more easily.
I have only worked with a few GOP state offices, and I can tell you South Carolina is very strong, with great leadership and hard working, smart people.
I am going to begin here in New York with the help of a few fellow conservatives to see if we can find a leader here. Some one with greater knowledge then mine should identify those states that need work, and individuals within those states that can help us effect the changes needed.
Our state GOP chair is up for grabs this year, and we have begun to work on a short list of who we [conservatives] would like to push for the job.
RedState 3.0 is going to help GREATLY in this effort, I have already loosely organized several people to help me with our state module. I am sure Dan McLaughlin and Fran Cianfrocca will be "All In" as well.
Make it a priority when we go live in the next few weeks at RS 3.0 to become active in your state party and tell us about it via your state module.
We must begin to turn this around at home first, that is where we can put the real pressure on that crowd of bums in Washington.
