The NY Times brings up Obama's Muslim birth...yes the NY Times!

I must say my first reaction was shock and than my second was "they want to hash this out now"...I am sure that the NY Times oped page would not go with this opinion if not to get it out of the way for the general election.
From the NY Times article:
"But it is a mistake to conflate his African identity with his Muslim heritage. Senator Obama is half African by birth and Africans can understandably identify with him. In Islam, however, there is no such thing as a half-Muslim. Like all monotheistic religions, Islam is an exclusive faith."
I have to say for all of their articles about race and the articles about Obama's middle name where they were appalled at such trivial claptrap that they themselves would be so blunt in their words....what they say is true....but do they believe it to be true?

So if the Iranian "Parliament" passes that law making conversion away from Islam a crime punishable by death, what happens when Barry shows up in Tehran for "talks" with the midget dictator? He better have a healthy VP.
Other than to note that this is another reason for Obama not to choose Hillary as his VP.

Thus, the publishing of this article doesn't indicate any shift regarding the NYT and Obama. How the NYT editors will respond remains to be seen: perhaps they've orchestrated this as the first act in a theater production, or perhaps they will simply surf on the waves of reader response. Or perhaps they'll content themselves with an editorial response and a rebuttal columnist.
And Rightly So!
