was my first thought today after hearing about Spitzer.
I just saw some footage of his family, and I really feel sorry for them. What a beautiful wife and children.
Kids must be adopted, don't you think?

Looks like all earlier talk from Dems about Republican corruption was just TALK. Face facts all ya' liberals-power can corrupt.
Politicians and diapers need to be changed often-and for the same reason!

He was mad at Bush about SCHIP:
"There is a health care crisis in this country, but he (Bush) continues to ignore the problem while vulnerable children without insurance "just go to the emergency room."
I'll bet his wife isn't at the emergency room or at a public health clinic today. She saw her personal physician last night.

Someone tell Andrew Cuomo to wipe that smile off his face.

I'm not sure Andrew Cuomo is happy about this. I actually think he's very upset.
If Spitzer resigns, then the Lt. Governor will take over. He'll probably be popular, just on the virtue of picking up the pieces of a crumbling administration (see: Jodi Rell in CT), and he'll probably run in his own right, and will have all the advantages of incumbency. Cuomo might try to primary him, but it'll be tough. He didn't do so well last time he was in a primary against a black guy. (see: Carl McCall 2002)
If Spitzer stays on, but remained very unpopular, something that seemed very unlikely prior to this event, Cuomo could have either primaried him, or if he ran again, run and likely won.
It seems to me if anything he's the saddest man in NY now, other then perhaps Spitzer himself. His future plans just got put in serious doubt.

Andy Cuomo? Or Joe Bruno?
My money would be on Bruno. BTW, it's all over various radio outlets that corks are popping all over Albany this evening. Seems that almost nobody liked this sanctimonious SOB.

He simply doesn't have the equipment to be governor of New York State. And that has nothing whatsoever to do with the fact that he's African-American and legally blind, so don't go there.
When Spitzer beat out Cuomo for the Democratic nomination, it was a forgone conclusion that he'd be elected governor in a landslide. There was no reason to put a qualified individual on the ticket with him. I don't know but I wouldn't be surprised if Patterson was made Lt. Gov. in order to reward Spitzer supporters in Harlem.
If Patterson elects not to serve (or someone makes him an offer he can't refuse), the acting Governor will be Republican State Senate leader Joe Bruno. The irony couldn't be richer, as Spitzer has made no secret of the fact that he considers Bruno public enemy number one.
That's what the Democrat Party is at best, and traitors at worst.
"Honor is self-esteem made visible in action." - Ayn Rand, West Point, 1974
hangs head in shame.... :-(
Although I have hope. Most women get more conservative when they think about Democrat morality and work ethics being taught to their kids. So in a few years....
No way will Patterson not run the state now and oh how us New Yorkers will suffer. The man is from same cloth as Sharpton
this was the change for which there was hope? Republicans/conservatives, don't get down! There is a target rich environment for us & our candidates if we will not quit & fight!
That picture of Obama/Patrick is below the belt. I realize that 99.99% of those who see it will notice the words "aide charged with" in small letters. Still, the implication is that Obama/Patrick somehow condoned this aide's behavior. We're better than that.
Thing is, there are plenty of other Democrats who have recently embarrassed themselves: Thomas Wright stealing from his campaign & and Al Franken's failure to carry worker's comp. Then there's Kwame Kilpatrick!

Please fix - I want to see the pictures. :)
