Wrightheadedness

Just because I keep reading a friction going on here that I don’t see any need for.
To those that are offended that the Fredheads are relating Conservatism to Fredheadedness, I’d like to give you my view from way out in right field. I think EPU covered this very well in all of his explanations, and I certainly do not speak for him or any other Fredhead, but I’d like for you to see one reason I think you shouldn’t be offended by this.
Let’s go with a hypothetical here.
Let’s say I’m interested in making one last major home purchase. One that I plan to use to kick back in retirement and really enjoy life for a few decades, then it will go to the kids for their enjoyment. I’ve got my mind made up that Frank Lloyd Wright was a genius and really need one of his designs to fit the bill. My family all agree. Anything from Wright would be perfect.
I enlist a group of Realtors and explain what I need them to find. They proceed to explain to me that my finances are not up to speed for any Frank Lloyd Wright designed homes, even on the slightest chance one would even come onto the market. I then explain that, this is what I need them to look for, as you never know until you try. Who knows, some odd circumstances could happen that allows it to be.
Needless to say, months go by and no FLW home falls into my lap. I meet up with my group of realtors and we have a meeting to discuss where to go. Obviously, the search has to be expanded. The realtors widen the search to include designers that were heavily influenced by Wright.
A month or two later I’m closing on a house that fits the bill. Also, a friend of mine liked mine so much, and being a big Frank Lloyd Wright fan himself, wanted me to hook him up with the group that located mine for me.
I give him a business card and tell him to tell them that Geary had him call and that he is another “Wrighthead”.
The group of realtors knows immediately what that means.
Anyway, I don’t think you necessarily have to take Fredheadedness quite so much to heart. It’s more a concept than anything else. There is adoration from some of us to Fred because he got a lot of us back in touch with our Conservatism, but Fredheadedness is not really attached all that much to him anymore, in my opinion. He could change his stance on issues at this point and Fredheadedness would still be the same.
Hopefully, I haven’t wasted your time or taken up valuable diary space with this, but just wanted to put it out there.
