CNN goes where Whoopi won't

Yesterday a shocking video came out. A Republican activist -- one of those blue-haired ladies at the county party -- called Hillary Clinton a "b*tch".

Unheard of.

So what does CNN do? They attack John McCain and try to manufacture outrage.

Rick Sanchez asks "Is John McCain done?" What? Erick here at Redstate loved it. Every GOP activist that I talked to laughed. It probably helped McCain.

But CNN needed outrage. They tried to manufacture it. So who do they invite to perform outrage on cue? Whoopi Goldberg, the brilliant political analyst and actor, Sanchez asks her opinion "as a woman." But even she won't play along:

I'm not taking offense from John McCain's response

However, that is not enough to stop a reporter on a rampage.

No wonder Americans distrust the press.

Go easy on CNN. by docj

They're just trying to duplicate the "magic" over at MSNBC.

CNN has Gone Down Hill by kmorrison

Sanchez is just a poor reporter. It's a non-story. I still like Wolf Blitzer, but CNN has been steadily down hill for a while now.

The question... Crazy or Stupid by whatifidontwanna

I vote stupid.

Check his W2s, he's got to be pullin down some coin from the Clinton Campaign.

McCain said, "I respect Senator Clinton. I respect..." There was a period after "Clinton". The guy doesn't understand basic English.

McCain is done by Joe Carter

***Every GOP activist that I talked to laughed.***

Once again showing that GOP activists are out of touch.

Ask non-Republican women and independent voters what they thought of the clip. Most people expect U.S. Senators to be collegial and gentlemanly enough not to say "That's an excellent question."

If we in the GOP are so out of touch that we think this is funny then we probably deserve to lose the next election.

5!

The question was "How do we beat [Hillary Clinton]?" That is an excellent question - and one that maybe all our candidates should take a crack at.

The question was not "Do you think Hillary is a B!@#$?"

McCain was inartful in his response. He should have interposed something along the lines of "I don't think we need to call our opponents names" and then address the ultimate issue of how do we win next year.

And I know any number of GOP and independent women who think of Hillary in exactly the same terms. The questioner was a woman. I find that women are more likely to have that kind of visceral reaction to HRC than men.

but the question itself was. I would give McCain the benefit of the doubt that he meant the latter.

i saw it yesterday, looked at my girlfriend and we had the "who farted face", it was ridiculous.

I had not turned over to FOX yet and saw this bogus crap and it reminded me to turn the channel. Lou had to report yesterday that no soldier's died in Iraq.

He is completely against the war and so this little bit of reporting was almost "sad" to him. I usually change the channel when he is talking about anything but illegals.

Freedom of Religion not Freedom from Religion

The mock outrage over McCain not distancing himself from the 'bitch comment' is a bit ridiculous. Still, had a similar incident happened in reverse with Clinton telling one of her supporters that it was an 'excellent question' when he referred to McCain as a son of a bitch I am sure there would be plenty of mock outrage over here.

BTW don't kid yourself that the MSM would not jump all over my hypothetical if it were to happen. Clinton's cleavage and Edwards haircut both got far more MSM coverage than this little dust up.

Where is Sanchez outrage for top level politicians calling Bush Hitler? calling our forces terrorists?

He is lucky I don't live in Atlanta anymore.

Our media is getting downright dangerous. Along with liberating Iraq, we need a war on biased media here at home and liberate Americans from this bull crap.

At the end of the clip by Common Cents

At the end of the clip Sanchez invites viewers to log on to CNN and finish the sentence:

"McCain's handling of the "b*tch" question about Hillary tells me..."

Here is what I emailed Rick Sanchez at outintheopen@cnn.com

"....tells me that you, Rick, are a sensationalist piece of crap biased reporter. Where is your outrage over TOP politicians in our country elected by the people referring to Bush as Hitler and our fighting forces overseas referred to as terrorists?

You don't think at nearly every Dem function Bush gets called equal or worse names?

Whoopi Goldberg even laughed at your insinuations.

Why don't you try a little "fair and balanced" "we report, you decide" instead of the biased partisan agenda driven reporting? Truth does wonders for ratings."

who try to manufacture outrage against candidates for things they DONT EVEN SAY based on subjective perception alone:

The "dirty Sanchez". Yes, a CNN reporter today pulled a "dirty Sanchez" on John McCain when he refused to scold an old lady exercising her First Amendment right to criticize her government and its officials... and she wasn't even TAZED!

We could even say that the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth were "dirty Sanchezed" by the MSM during the last prez election.

Just a thought...What other public figures have been "dirty Sanchezed" by the left in recent years? Thomas? Bork?

A pedestrian was Dirty by Common Cents

A pedestrian was Dirty Sanchezed in Miami.

"Mr. Sanchez had already survived what would ordinarily be a career-killer*. While leaving a Miami Dolphins game with his father in 1990, Mr. Sanchez struck a drunken pedestrian, who later died of his injuries. According to police, Mr. Sanchez’s own blood-alcohol level was above the legal limit, and he left the scene before returning. He ultimately pleaded no contest to a D.U.I. charge, but avoided jail time, and even remained on the air."

CNN Viewers by rbastid

Well we see how CNN has to pander to libs with only half a brain when they have the video of the woman saying "bitch" but Sanchez goes with "oh no he said the b word that rhymes with witch" we all heard the word 12 seconds earlier, no ones gonna be more or less offended by you sugar coating it.

His attempts at showing a difference between what Whoopie said and what this supporter said are moronic too. I mean one was talking about our President and the other was talking about a bitch.

A new term for reporters... by AzaMatteroFact

I like Golden Boys suggestion...we have Borked, Swift Boated (Though I think that is translated as "Tell the truth about someone's record) and now Sanchezed.

Was McCain's response the best possible? No.
Was it anything to be manufactured into a scandal? Again, No.

I didn't really think there was anywhere that Whoopi Goldberg wouldn't go...except maybe a lingerie show at Rosie O'Donnells.
