Can WaPo editors read?

The Washington Post should either fire their editors or send them to remedial education. They should be ashamed that they let this garbage get printed.
Despite his reputation in the media as a charming maverick, McCain has shown that he is also happy to use Nixon-style dirty campaign tactics. By charging recently that Hamas is rooting for an Obama victory,
McCain isn't "charging". A senior Hamas leader said that "actually we like Mr. Obama. We hope he will (win) the election [...] and he has a vision to change America." Why isn't that the story, rather than a distortion of McCain's statement?
This clown James Rubin continues:
I asked: "Do you think that American diplomats should be operating the way they have in the past, working with the Palestinian government if Hamas is now in charge?"McCain answered: "They're the government; sooner or later we are going to have to deal with them, one way or another, and I understand why this administration and previous administrations had such antipathy towards Hamas because of their dedication to violence and the things that they not only espouse but practice, so . . . but it's a new reality in the Middle East. I think the lesson is people want security and a decent life and decent future, that they want democracy. Fatah was not giving them that."
"Deal with" is not the same as "unconditional" talks at the level of heads of state. The President of Iran says that Israel should be destroyed and their weapons are being used to kill American soldiers. Indeed, yesterday on the blogger call McCain pointed out that Ryan Crocker regularly interacts with Iranians in Baghdad.
How could the Washington Post's editors let this garbage get printed in their paper? Are they illiterate or just biased beyond belief?
"Are they illiterate or just biased beyond belief?" Why not both.
one way or another leaves the door open for MANY ways of dealing with them.

And I would add that "deal with them" is not the same as "make a deal with them".
... please note the subtle beginning of the withdrawal of the Maverick™ shield that the media had gifted McCain with in the past seven years.

So let's start winning the argument.
I read the Washington Post. Every time I start to think they do a pretty decent job for a 'mainstream' paper something like this happens. Meh. At least they aren't the New York Times.
I was at the airport yesterday and CNN gave Joe Biden maybe 8 or 9 minutes to just yell about the President yesterday. There was no debate and nothing to balance it out as he was served up one leading softball question after another. It was tantamount to free advertising. I could only shake my head and go back to reading my book.
I'm just going to vote biased beyond belief.
watching these dishonest clowns going into the tank for Obama. Their own lies are as apparent (and easily proven, sometimes with video, no less) as their chosen candidate's.
Given the fact that there's SO MUCH media out there today (to expose them)...and given McCain's stature...this could be the year the American people finally see the MSM for what they are (dishonest as sin).

So McCain is resorting to "Nixon-style" campaign tactics by stating an obvious fact, but Obama is stating a fact by taking "the 100 year statement" and spinning it and distorting it into a complete lie. What is wrong with this "colored" editorial picture? Wake up America!
It's even worse. It's Reagan-style:
I guess Iran got what the wanted out of Reagan. Lots of Weapons. The GOP ship is sinking. It's sad that you have to go back 28 years to find some hope of saving this joke of a foreign policy.
" Got to love the Lord for making things like that."

McCain confers legitimacy on the Hamas-led PA government by acknowledging that they are the Palestinian people's choice. Therefore when he says "They're the government, we have to deal with them" he's clearly talking about diplomacy with Hamas, which is in fact far more extreme than Obama, who has said he would not negotiate with them.
The guiding principle here at redstate and across the conservative blogosphere seems to be that a Democrat is responsible for the words and actions of anyone he's ever shared a bus bench with, but it's "garbage" for a Republican to be taken to task for his own statements.

the best part...
"one way or another"
Oh and by the way they are legitimate the people voted them in...idiot!

Before you start tossing out ad hominem arguments at the entire RedState community, I suggest you take a breath and swallow the bile. McCain's statement is merely an acknowledgment of the political reality that Hamas controls that area. They are not a representative government. Hamas is a true fascist entity, espousing a radical nationalism of Palestine, utilizing terror and violence to bend the populace their way. The only way you could make an argument that they fairly represent the interests of their people is that a majority of their population also seems to seek the destruction of America and Israel. Stating that Hamas is the controlling government is far different than Obama's willingness to engage and any and all comers, provided they have a head of state. That is foolish naivete, and runs hard against McCain's simple statement of fact.
I guess that you're just trolling... Douchebag.
No, I'm certainly not trolling. A couple years ago I would have voted for McCain over any Democrat candidate. I honestly don't see how you read McCain's comment and come to any other conclusion than that a McCain administration will deal diplomatically with Hamas.
How else could Hamas' election represent a "new reality in the Middle East," or how could the lesson learned from their ascendancy to power be that "people want security" and democracy?

"Your father will deal with you later, young man."
A serious answer to your question is "Deal with in one way or another" is not anything close to "we should have full diplomatic relations with".
Deal with could mean that yes, we're going to make a deal. It could also mean that we'll apply pressure to get them to change their evil ways (and their goals ARE evil).
The comments about the people wanting security was a reference to them electing a terrorist group for the sake of "Change". They weren't so much supporting Hamas as protesting the current state of affairs. Kinda makes you wonder if change is always a good thing.....

If the Post is illiterate then so you must be too. The reason being Obama never said he would immediately and only deal with our enemies by appeasing them. What he said was that in addition to other avenues he would also use diplomacy, unlike Bush who only knows how to use is muscle. Remember that Reagan not only used muscle, but he did a lot of talking as well.
The dorm advisor can see the towel stuffed under your door, and the hall reeks.
And I won't go so far as to call you illiterate (it assumes too high a level of function). You know, you can use that big pile of grey mush inside your head to reason out ideas that aren't spoon fed to you through Markos Mulatis.
Think for yourself kid. I know it's HARD for you, but you can do it. Engage a neuron will you?

it their lying attempts to twist someone's words into something they're not?
It seems we had a whole storm of people from the "There own reality based community" who came here to try and impose their made up reality onto the world.
So far their points on this remind me of the old Monty Python "argument" skit.

belittle, stifle, and curse those who don't agree with you. While at the same time, ironically, you yell at the Post for being biased and one-sided.
You have to have something to say before you can engage in a conversation. And starting a conversation with insults will NEVER get your point across.

I think it was accurate. Just read what people immediately have said to me after my original post including you who said: "use that big pile of grey mush inside your head to reason out ideas that aren't spoon fed to you". Now that's insulting.
Look up the definition of insult. Think a bit.
Post something intelligent without insults attached.
Then we'll talk.
