   For any of these fledgling states which emerged out of the collapse of the European colonial empires to assume even the most basic of elements of representative republics would be expecting a miracle.  Most of these people lend credit to the old Hobbesian maxim about life in the world outside the realms of Western Civilization.  Despite what the Left's various celebrities and intellectuals will try to say about it, I don't think very many of these people have an interest in establishing a rule of law along any lines.

   What disturbs me is that many of our "enlightened" would look up to dictatorships like this as an example of what the United States should become.

To be fair, it wouldn't upset me nearly so much, if they'd just be content with giving away their own money. But our Glorious Leaders insist on giving them my money, too!
