The credibility Gap in Michigan

FoxNews seems to be picking up the torch for McCain.  Hammering Romney but overlooking the flaws in McCain.  FNC hyped comments made by McCain's campaign surrogates that Romney is:

all talk, little substance

Now anyone associated with John McCain that makes such a statement should hence forth be seen as a political operative with absolutely not credibility.  Now while the comment is factually correct about Romney it is equally if not more correct about McCain.  If that wasn't enough the insanity continued:

“Michigan voters shouldn’t be fooled by Mitt Romney’s latest campaign promises of economic development and job growth. They need to look closely at his record in Massachusetts, where manufacturing job growth was third-worst in the country and taxes and ‘fees’ increased by over $700 million per year,’ said McCain backer and former Massachusetts Gov. Jane Swift

Again this is factually correct but former Gov Swift fails to take notice of McCain's voting record of tax increases and voting against tax cuts that would have helped Michigan industry.  Swift goes on to say:

“Mitt Romney has a reputation of saying anything to win. A comparison of his record versus his rhetoric on the economy shows why,”

Really, and we've never known McCain as someone who would say anything to win?  Sorry but this doesn't hold water either.  Now Romney points out a few of McCain's flaws but you have to dig deep in the article to find them.

“Senator McCain and Senator (Joe) Lieberman have a bill pending in Congress that unilaterally imposes new high energy costs on U.S. manufacturers, with no safety valve. The Energy Information Agency estimated that this bill would raise electric rates by as much as 25 percent and gasoline prices by 68 cents a gallon. And the cost in American jobs – over 300,000. So it would not only kill jobs, it would make it harder for families to make ends meet,”

Now this is true but Romney has also jumped on the energy efficient band wagon and pandering to the global warming nuts and he wants to bring everyone together to hold hands in a "can't we all just get along" moment.  Romney then goes on to articulate a list of big government programs proving he's no different than McCain in his ability to pander.

Among his proposals, Romney said he would:

– Create new tax benefits, including making the research and development tax credit permanent;

– increase funding five-fold — from $4 billion dollars to $20 billion dollars — in national investment in energy research, fuel technology, materials science, and automotive technology;

– Turn government workforce training programs into personal accounts that can be managed by the workers themselves to gain education at community college or to pay for on the job training in real jobs; and

– Increase pay for teachers and develop a merit pay system to encourage innovation in skills training.

Romney never one to miss an opportunity make a feeble attempt put himself in the same context of Ronald Reagan.

While primarily addressing the adults in the crowd, Romney tailored his stump speech for the kids who are too young to remember the oft-mentioned late president and Republican hero Ronald Reagan.

Unfortunately we don't teach kids enough about Ronald Reagan.  If we did they would see through Romney's rhetoric.

Huckabee not wanting anyone to out do him when it comes to pandering also got into the act.

“I’ve been living in the real world while some are living in that insular bubble called Washington, D.C. And if you want someone who believes the status quo is just fine, there are plenty of choices, but if you think we need to bring some true differences and changes in this country that work for working people in this country then we do have a Republican solution,”

Huckabee hasn't lived in the real world anymore than Romney, McCain, or Rudy.  He's no different than them in that all he does is pander to his audience about government should do everything for people.

Enough pandering, it's time for a serious candidate to fix real problems, not pander to them!

war...wrong on taxes and big government...Senator McCain was the first Republican don't you know to buy into the religion of Global Climate Change...my friend.
