We all know that Mitt Romney was adamantly pro-choice (or, if you prefer, pro-abortion) at that time; after all, this is the guy who was "the pro-choice candidate in [his] race" against a giant bottle of liquor Ted Kennedy, and who refused to exercise his line-item veto power to remove taxpayer-funded abortions from the healthcare plan he signed while governor.
The question, as it always has been, is not whether or not he has been pro-choice (settled issue -- he has), but whether or not you believe his conversion is real.
For me, it's too conveniently timed. For others, it's not. But that's the issue here, not whether or not he was an adamantly pro-choice politician before.
