I think this still stands as true. What a waste of breath. Look - I came to CPAC as a college student. I totally get the feeling that you've spent the last X months/years in a teeny minority - pushed around in polite society for not toeing the liberal orthodoxy. Of coming to a conference, maybe for the first time, where you get the chance to spend time around like-minded people.
And then you get to hear someone stand up and throw a brick at a liberal. To say something as mean-spirited as being accused of preferring woman get coat hangars instead of healthcare. And then you clap.
But then - when the crowd goes away, you just think, "good grief, is that one of ours? Is she actually on OUR team? Is that the best foot we could put forward?"
I do wish she'd just shut the hell up. Our side would be better off.
