Posted at 11:46pm on May 15, 2008 At least Obama has a conscience...

By RottDawg

President Bush while addressing the Israeli Knesset said:

Some seem to believe that we should negotiate with the terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along. We have heard this foolish delusion before.

For some reason, the new found messiah, Barack Obama took this personal, and responded quickly with:

George Bush knows that I have never supported engagement with terrorists, and the president's extraordinary politicization of foreign policy and the politics of fear do nothing to secure the American people or our stalwart ally Israel.

By ilitigant

David Brock gets the word out:

http://blog.washingtonpost.com/thefix/2008/05/democratic_media_group_sca...

"Progressive Media USA, the group organized to be the main soft-money advertising vehicle for Democrats in the fall, will dramatically scale back its efforts in deference to the wishes of the party's presumptive nominee.

"Progressive Media will not be running an independent ad campaign this year," David Brock, the head of the organization, confirmed in a statement obtained by The Fix this morning."

By ilitigant

Yes, this is in the right category.

The story at http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20080513/pl_politico/10315

Obama is the hedge candidate, attempting to distance himself from his handlers.

The try is deceptive and deceitful.

"Just last summer, Matt Bai's widely accepted analysis identified the "billionaires" and the "bloggers" as the key, emergent players in the Democratic Party's infrastructure."

Posted at 9:45am on May 13, 2008 Reading War and Decision: Part One

Chapters 1-3: The First Days

By Mark I

From its very first pages, War and Decision, Inside the Pentagon at the Dawn of the War on Terrorism, by former Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Douglas J. Feith, takes the conventional wisdom about the war on terror and throws it out the window. Nothing, literally nothing you know about the way that the Bush Administration planned, decided, and executed the United States’ strategy for fighting and ultimately winning the war can stand up to the scrutiny imposed by this consequential book. In twenty years, when historians start to write a dispassionate history of the Bush Administration and its actions, they would do well to start with Feith’s careful, detailed, and surprising account of the issues, decisions, mistakes, and triumphs that America experienced in the early stages of its war against fundamentalist Islamic extremists.

Throughout her history, America has been fortunate to have great leaders at decisive times: George Washington and the Founders; Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War; Franklin Delano Roosevelt during the Great Depression and World War II; Ronald Reagan after the decline of the 1970s. America’s democracy, by design or by Providence, always seems to produce a man for his times to steer the nation through turbulence. In the case of the war on terrorism, there was not so much one man--although George W. Bush will ultimately be judged kindly by history for his principled leadership--as there was a particularly important plane trip. On the day after September 11th, 2001, when America had been brought low from the skies by hijacked airplanes used as weapons, it is both ironic and entirely fitting that the germ of the battle plan that would ultimately bring the terrorists to their knees, would begin to take shape in the belly of a military cargo plane en route from Europe to Andrews Air Force Base.

Posted at 6:21pm on May 8, 2008 In the 70's, it was OPEC. In the present, it's COPEC.

By Tim Schieferecke

We all remember how oil prices spiked in the 70's when OPEC used oil as a weapon. We can remember their stated reasons for doing so. What it really came down to in the end was them flexing their little Arab muscles and demanding we notice how "important" they were. They were ultimately hurting themselves, and the insanity finally ended.

Fast forward to today. Today we have another group that willfully withholds a vast oil supply from the markets. Unlike OPEC though, they have as yet been hurt very little by their actions. They hide behind so called "environmental concerns", and environmental concerns have provided adequate cover for them to continue operating so far.

By Jaded

I received the following email from Gathering of Eagles and wanted to share with you all some really great news. Groups such as Code Pink who have bundled 50K to Obama have harassed and belittled our military recruiters in many cities across the United States....Melanie Morgan from Move America Forward has listed these acts of SEDITION and had requested that the Justice Department look into these events and many more threats....they have done so, finally.

Posted at 11:13am on Apr. 24, 2008 Syria's Nuclear Reactor - Was It Really For Iran?

By GordonTaylor

As the controversy continues to swirl about Israel's bombing of a suspected Nuclear reactor in Syria, I can't help but think that it was a back-door program instigated and probably funded by Iran.

With so much world pressure and scrutiny, Iran may have convinced Syria to let North Korea install a breeder reactor for their use. Syria is heavily tied to Iran, as we know, and receives military and monetary assistance from Iran, why not let them build a breeder reactor, as a back up for the enrichment plan.

By patriotroom

WWHD?

Clinton further displayed tough talk in an interview airing on Good Morning America Tuesday, ABC News’ Chris Cuomo asked Clinton what she would do if Iran attacked Israel with nuclear weapons.

“I want the Iranians to know that if I’m the president we will attack Iran,” Clinton said. “In the next ten years, during which they might foolishly consider launching an attack on Israel, we would be able to totally obliterate them.”

For those in doubt, we've been at war with Iran for a long time.

Posted at 9:34am on Apr. 10, 2008 NYT's Bumiller writes unsourced hit piece on McCain

By Soren Dayton

Remember Elisabeth Bumiller? She's that New York Times reporter who tried to attack John McCain on the plane a couple of months ago. Our Dan McLaughlin characterized the interaction as "a 'gotcha' question about an old story on which there are no new facts and the reporter is just trying to pick a fight."

Well... Bumiller is at it again, doing yeoman's work for Barack Obama. This time it is an unsourced hit piece lacking in facts ... or quotes. What are we talking about?

Earlier, Mark Kilmer pointed us to a story from ABC "News" in which the "journalist" couldn't find one Soldier who didn't want to go home (or vote for someone who would bring them home quicker). Maybe they should try for facts instead of anecdotes:

[No, in point of fact: we don't actually equate idiots like the five idiots named - although with Farrakhan, it's probably just a failure of nerve in his case - with the actual would-be killers in the world, let alone the ones that pretend to be Muslim. The author is advised to not try our patience by repeating something like this again. - Moe Lane]

There is one thing I have never understood about the likes of Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Louis Farrakhan, Father Pflager, Jeremiah Wright and all the Musim would-be killers in the world.

Posted at 9:24pm on Apr. 4, 2008 A Reader For "Fairytale" Terrorists Crossing OUR Border Deniers

By Tim Schieferecke

It has become abundantly clear to me that there is an Absolut-ly enormous number of folks that are either uninformed or willfully ignorant when it comes to our southern border. There are terrorists at our gates, or would be if we bothered to actually have gates to go through along with a big fence. The sad truth is, they just walk right in.

I present the following document, and ask that it be presented into evidence.
