Bill Clinton is Right
though not in the way he might imagine

More below the fold.
Bill Clinton made a bit of news late last week when using his trademarked bull-in-a-china-shop campaign style on behalf of Hillary! he opined:
"I think it would be a great thing if we had an election year where you had two people who loved this country and were devoted to the interest of this country. And people could actually ask themselves who is right on these issues, instead of all this other stuff that always seems to intrude itself on our politics."
One of Obama's surrogates, retired rent-a-general and part-time clothing designer named Merrill McPeak immediately went on the attack.
"I grew up, I was going to college when Joe McCarthy was accusing good Americans of being traitors, so I've had enough of it," McPeak said.
McPeak was wrong, not an unusual happening, and Clinton was right.
It would be great if we had two candidates for president who loved America and were devoted to the best interests of America.
When was the last time that happened? I'd argue Nixon-Humphrey was the last time we had an election in which the Democrat candidate did not see America as the cause of most of what is wrong in the world.
Clearly by Nixon-McGovern we had one of our national parties in the thrall of the hate-America left. It is hard to look at Carter's brief regime as being anything other than an fire sale of our interests and allies. Mondale and Dukakis? Bill Clinton? Al Gore? John Kerry?
Clinton's statement was arguably the closest encounter he's had with the truth and introspection in his adult life. I just don't see how it helps Hillary! any more than it helps Obama.

Ha, Clinton says never mind the political stuff, he means never mind that Obama is leading in votes/delegates and do the right thing by nominating Hillary. LOL, only Slick Willy has the audacity of grope.
