DNC Takes Over Obama's Lies

Howard Dean and Company pick up the lying where Barack Obama left off.
Barack Obama, after being beat up by numerous factcheckers for grossly misrepresenting Senator McCain's "100 Years" comment, finally dropped that distortion from his stump speech. Obama stopped using that discredited attack because it became obvious to all, even the admittedly Obamamania infected main stream media, that Obama's misrepresentation of McCain's comment was a "serious distortion to the point of rank falsehood."
Now the Democratic Party is out with an ad that not only continues the "Distortion," "Rank Falsehood," "Seriously Misleading" statements and "Outright Lying" about McCain's 100 year remarks, the Democrats' new ad is illegal as well:
New DNC Ad Quotes Sen. McCain Responding To A Question On How Long The U.S. Will Be In Iraq With The Words: “Maybe 100. That Would Be Fine With Me.” (DNC Website, www.democrats.org, Accessed 4/27/08)
Read on, there is more.
Friday, the Republican Party of Virginia filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission stating the Democrats new ad against Senator McCain "is a coordinated communication between the DNC and its presidential candidates, Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama." Because the ad exceeds the $5,000 contribution limit, the Democrats' ad violates federal election law because the ad "is an excessive in-kind contribution from the national committee to its presidential candidates within the restricted window of time."
RNC Chairman Robert Duncan called on Howard Dean and company to stop airing the Democrats' "illegal & inaccurate" ads:
It is becoming increasingly clear that Howard Dean and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) will say and do anything to defeat John McCain, even violating federal election law. The conduct of the national party and its chairman in particular, is part of a developing pattern of reckless behavior and rhetoric that has questioned everything from Senator McCain’s integrity and character to his heroic and valiant military service to our nation.[. . .]
Media reports detail that the DNC has recently been in communication with the campaigns of Senators Clinton and Obama. The reports also detail the fact that the DNC and the campaigns of their presidential candidates have coordinated strategy; therefore, the ad that is currently being run against Senator McCain cannot be an independent expenditure, as presented in the disclaimer.
This morning we saw yet another advertisement being announced by the Democrat National Committee which is not only illegal, but a complete distortion of Senator McCain’s comments and record.
This is the Democrats' outrageous and cynical response to Senator McCain's high-minded call for tolerance and respect.

The only question left, should Obama get the nomination, is whether McCain hits 350 EV.

Leave it to the DNC to become the noise chamber, effectively channeling the dark lord of propaganda himself in order to save Obama from himself.

This crap has to be nipped in the bud. Millions of Americans take headlines as gospel.
Left unchecked, the truth will get distorted and boiled down to simpleminded stupidity.
"If it doesnt fit you must acquit."
"McCain wants to have military in Irag for 100 years."
Disgusting.
CNN did a story on it this morning and Dana Bash said oh well....its politics.....and went on to indicate all's fair after Reps pulled the swift boat thing on Kerry.

I predict the nastiest campaign in modern history, followed by a very close election ala 2000, regardless of whom the Dems nominate.
The slight faux pas by any of the candidates will twisted into a club and used without mercy. Both sides are guilty of this imho.
Politics as usual.
Ugh.
I'l worry. No one is asking any of these guys "Ma, Ma, where's my Pa?"

I do wish, however, that a debate of the issues would take priority over the rhetoric and sound bytes.
The nation deserves better.

Pink Floyd's Waters had a giant pig at a concert with "Obama" on it.
I would think with all the 'when pigs fly' and 'pork' jokes that could be attached to this; it would have it's own thread. i could burn a whole segment myself if someone would give me a talk show.
when pigs fly - Obama will caught driving a chevy, will wear cotton underwear, will use a sleeve or kleenex over a silk hanky.
-pork - Water's pig is about the size of the one that will drop my tax dollars on new orleans.
It's the man's own words -- if we have to stay in Iraq for 100 years to fix it, then that's what we'll do. Obviously it'd be nice if they beat their swords into ploughshares and stopped trying to kill eachother over there. But, if they don't, and we have to continue to police a civil war, and that takes 50, 100 years, then McCain's policy is, so be it. Right?

I am not an Obama fan, but even I felt bad for the guy while watching Jeremiah Wright's speech at the National Press Club this morning, particularly the Q&A. It was truly appalling. I eagerly await the YouTube clips.
If Barack manages to hold onto the Democratic nomination (more doubtful now than at any point in the last two months), he will be lucky to win 200 electoral votes vs McCain in November.
