Yes, good... (looking at clock, subtracting time zones) yup, still afternoon... good afternoon, sir. Excuse me for bothering you, but I just wished to note two things that I thought that I should bring to your attention.
First off, did you know that the US Navy successfully tested an antimissile system off your coast recently?
Military shoots down missile in test off Hawaii
By AUDREY McAVOY – 1 day agoHONOLULU (AP) — The U.S. military intercepted a ballistic missile Thursday in the first such sea-based test since a Navy cruiser shot down an errant satellite earlier this year.
The military fired the target, a Scud-like missile with a range of a few hundred miles, from a decommissioned amphibious assault ship near Hawaii's island of Kauai.
The USS Lake Erie, based at Pearl Harbor, fired two interceptor missiles that shot down the target in its final seconds of flight about 12 miles above the Pacific Ocean.
The target was shot down about 100 miles northwest of Kauai in its final seconds of flight, about five minutes after it was fired.
The test showed Navy ships are capable of shooting down short-range targets in their last phase of flight using modified missiles the service already has, the military said.
Yes, this is very exciting news, particularly since we've advanced enough along the research process to use off-the-shelf gear. The weblog Perfunction (via AoSHQ) has more details, including a very interesting video of the event:
I can imagine how this might relieve you, given that you live so close to Pearl, and all - and considering that you live on a piece of real estate that's within range of a North Korean missile.

PS: What was the other thing? Oh, right.
In any battle between the progressive group Caucus4Priorities and yourself for Barack Obama's regard, you lose.
Enjoy your weekend, Mr. Henderson.

Assuming that a majority of voters are mature, rational adults, there's no way this guy should win the election...
But he got the nomination from a healthy percentage of that set of 'mature, rational voters.' Just saying :-)

Why would God invent something like whiskey? To keep the Irish from ruling the world of course.
tell me that someone smart and good at ads with the RNC or in the conservative blogospere is taking that youtube and adding in all the flip flops of Obama to make a viral campaign..

I get now is the disclaimer that the video is no longer available. I have seen it before, and he's not just an empty suit, he's a scary empty suit.
I suspect the left has been abusing the DMCA.

...multiple copies of it, fortunately.
The Fuzzy Puppy of the VRWC. I've been usurped!
The Congressional Progressive Caucus is backing a proposal to cut the following weapons systems as well:
F-22 Raptor Fighter
F-35 Joint Strike Fighter
V-22 Osprey
DDG-1000 Destroyer
Basically, that will leave the Air Force with no modern state-of-the-art fighters at all. And since the F-35 is being jointly built with our NATO partners, canceling it hurts them too.
Lynn Woolsey put it this way: We don't want our military to be "bullying" anybody abroad.
Barbara Lee will be presenting these ideas to Obama soon. In case you've forgotten, Barbara Lee is the only Congressperson to vote against taking ANY military action after 9-11. She has also voted against EVERY other military action the U.S. has ever undertaken since she got elected.
Even though I have heard it is finally coming into its own.
As to the rest of her suggestions. Well my guess is she is against Gitmo so why don't we release some of the inmates so they can room with her.

in the Marine Corps and at least two of them have been deployed to Iraq. The MSM gave the V-22 an undeserved bad rap! The reason they had so much trouble with the development is because they were trying to achieve something that had never been done before. Once they had the technical bugs worked out, the pilots were in completely unknown territory. No one could teach them how to best fly them because no had ever really flown them before. Not having an experienced group of pilots to learn from, they had to learn the hard way. Pretty much like the early aircraft pioneers! Try this analogy, put someone who learned to drive with an automatic transmission in an Indy racer and have them drive in the Indy 500!
The advantages the Osprey has over conventional helicopters in terms of speed and range can't be over emphasized. Flying at twice the speed of conventional helicopters just makes it that much better. With its in flight refueling capability it doesn't need to be transported by ship over long distances so it can 'self deploy'. Now that the concept of tilt-rotor aircraft has been proven I can forsee greater development unless someone in Congress screw it up!
and look like Hugo Chavez (sp) did this week.
He showed his prowess by sinking a stationary rusty tug boat this week.
Moe, we are lucky to have the counter to Mr. Henderson of Piikoi here in Hawaii. KHVH 830 AM radio.
All last week was military appreciation week featuring men and women of all ranks of the 25th ID and the Hawaii National Guard.
Most had served in Iraq and many are going back. The enthusiasm and dedication of these soldiers is amazing. After listening to their optimism of the progress and turn around in Iraq they are not fighting the same war as Obama, Harry Reid and the MSM claim they are losing.

Assuming that a majority of voters are mature, rational adults, there's no way this guy should win the election. Lovely to set a goal for a world without nuclear weapons when he simultaneously proposes significant cuts in the military force that ended Libya's weapons program. Foolish Surrender-Monkey Marxist. I hope John Kerry teaches this guy some French to complete his B.S. makeover.
