Now the left finds Wright unacceptable?

Or are they just worried that Obama's run is coming to a close?

I am struck by this from Joe Klein:

And furthermore, I've been to dozens and dozens of African-American church services over the years, including the investiture of one of my friends as an AME minister two years ago, and I have very rarely, if ever, heard the kind of rants that are part of Reverend Wright's canon. ... Black liberation theology is not the black church.

Of course, Klein did say:

And worse, Wright's purpose now seems quite clear: to aggrandize himself--the guy is going to be a go-to mainstream media source for racial extremist spew, the next iteration of Al Sharpton--and destroy Barack Obama.

Rememeber, this isn't a conservative. This is Joe Klein from Newsweek. Raising serious questions about Jeremiah Wright is now fully mainstream.

And I think God weighed in at the time as well, did he not?

It is like Jeremiah Wright is DELIBERATELY trying to destroy Obama in the past week.

No patriotic American can stand this kind of "preaching" from Reverend Wright. Add in Bill Ayres and the rest of Obama's fellow Marxists and Israel haters and we know what awaits us if we let these leftists win the White House!

As an NC resident... by justatron

Obama has a tough row to hoe amongst working class whites here as it is. I imagine that it will make it much, much harder for him. But then, I'm not voting in the Dem primary, so who knows...I considered briefly changing registration to participate in Operation Chaos, but the gubenatorial primary on the GOP side is too important to me.

One way or the other, I don't think that either Hillary or Obama has a shot at taking NC in November anyway...

"No compromise with the main purpose, no peace till victory, no pact with unrepentant wrong." - Winston Churchill

obama wins and those he doesn't. Where, as in Ohio, PA, even Texas, there are still lots of conservatives that are still dems, he loses. Where most reagan dems went to the gop long ago, he loses.

NC has a large black and university town libs in the dem party.

The good rev. may not really want a black elected. That would take away from the guy's talking points.

for why this idiot is going around making speeches and holding press conferences.

Obama will still win NC, but I don't see how he wins IA as long as there are fresh Wright stories in the news.

They stand as symbols against what he is preaching.

"running for Jesus"???

What an ignorant white-boy cracker I am. I didn't realize, all this time, that it was an elective office...

Rev. JW really is a weenie.

and that may be the Left's real problem. I think he has some crackpot ideas, too, but I don't blame the man for defending himself and the fruits of his ministries, such as they are.

"Many of us are quite disposed to barter [freedom] away for what we call energy, coercion, and some other terms we use as vaguely as that of liberty - There is often as great a rage for change and novelty in politics, as in amusements and fashions." ~ Fed

These days I sure can't tell any difference in content or editorial perspective. Wouldn't surprise me if they had the same revenue flows.

And Rightly So!

I remember when he blatantly lied about his authorship of Primary Colors on a news program, yet he still works in a journalistic capacity.

Klein is a smart guy by Balfour Conservative

Although I may not agree with his politics which he occassionally allows to blind his judgment, he is a talented writer and an astute observer of political personalities. His book "Politics Lost," is the best survey of the past 30 years of electoral politics I have yet encountered.

That book is pretty good. His articles suck and are full of bias, which is cool if your on the payroll of the DNC, which he isnt, I dont think.

And sermon preparation classes amongst many black preachers. Every one I've dealt with had a spirit of love and preached of hope. Been invited to their churches where, as a (severely) white man I felt just as welcome as at my own home church. Not a one I have ever met, or heard preach in person would come anywhere close to what Wright is spewing. So I see no way Wright can honestly lay claim to saying he's "for Jesus". Jesus himself said to "love those who hate you, and pray for those who persecute you". So I see no way that Wright's message fits within the commands that Christ had for his followers. Again, as Christ said "Why do you call me Lord, Lord, and do not the things I say?"

I heard it on the X......

I remember black preachers at the time saying they would not participate because they simply wouldn't march under a banner of anything other than Jesus Christ.

black pentecostal church in Delaware for four years. Singing in that choir is still one of the highlights of our lives. We loved those wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ more than I've got words to describe.

Bottom line, if Wright had showed up and preached any of the sermons I've heard he'd have been physically removed from the pulpit and tossed into the street.

It is to the shame of the people at Trinity that they allowed this poseur to stay more than a day. The gospel he preaches is not related to the Gospel Paul preached and his warning to the early Church about "angels of light" ring true in relation to Wright.

... Barack Hussein Obama.
Michelle, "This is the first time I've been proud of my country", Obama did a little 'read my lips' with that statement. Saint Barack managed to sit through twenty years of those sermons, managed to impregnate his wife, despite her readily apparent anti American sentiments, and didn't find anything objectionable with either. No matter how skillfully he tap dances, he won't be able to distance himself from the appearance of being anti American, anti patriotism, anti flag, anti military, anti founding fathers, anti capitalism, anti gun, anti religion, anti rural.
The rural towns, today, have not changed that much from the societies that formed the viewpoints and the attitudes of the framers of the U.S. Constitution and the Declaration of Independance. The Liberal's 'flyover' country was the birthplace of our nation and still are the bastion of our freedoms.

and the mainstream media has been criticizing Wright since it emerged. Remember the ABC debates?

Is the sky blue on your planet? by Martin A. Knight

And as for the ABC debates ... well, for the first time in his political life Obama had to face a moderator who didn't take off his panties and throw them at his head.

He didn't come off looking too well. Too bad.

Bizarre is about the only word that comes to mind.

Interesting, though, from the comments it sounds as this piece is ripping into Obama.

Wright, no matter how wrong by Common Cents

Wright, no matter how wrong he is, probably is bitter because he feels used and betrayed by Obama. Obama gladly subscribed to Wright's Church for 20 years but now distancing himself now he is battling for the Presidency. You reap what you sow.

To borrow a phrase from Wright, Obama's chickens ARE coming home to roost.
