The Clintons Play the Race Card Yet Again
Color Me Unsurprised

Now that you've met Barack Obama's mentor we should point out that this video is part of Hillary Clinton's opposition research on Barack Obama. They've run videos of little white girls in bed at night, they've run mail pieces allegedly making Obama look darker than he is, they've dared to use his middle name in phone calls, and now they are throwing out incendiary racial rhetoric from his preacher.
The Clintons are not fools. They see the polling trends that Obama is getting less and less of the white vote. And they aim to capitalize on that fact. I'll say again what I've said before: the Clinton campaign will do anything, even destroy the great racial coalition of the Democratic Party, to get back into office. They crave power above all else and they, at the end of the day, in it for themselves, not the Democratic Party.
But you know what? This makes me happy. Were the GOP to do something like this, the media would be screaming racism. They will never, however, say that about the Clintons -- or at least not too loudly. That would shatter their well built myth that the GOP gets ahead by playing on racial fears, when in fact that's the playbook for the DNC.

"It is his name and since he so proudly attends a church that is all about the motherland, I think it is fair game as well. Remember, he has pride in his African heritage."
What exactly does "fair game" mean in this context? He should be attacked for his middle name or his pride in his African heritage?
with using his middle name.
IOW, I really don't see mentioning it as an attack.
That's all.
if someone insisted on referring to the Republican superstar of Louisiana as Piyush "Bobby" Jindal at every opportunity, you would not ascribe any negative ulterior motive to them?
And I certainly wouldn't call it dropping "fear bombs". That is just silly.
...to actually pronounce it.

We actually HAD someone title a diary 'Piyush "Bobby" Jindal for VP?" Didn't think anything of it but "Oh? Is that his name? Huh. I wonder how that's pronounced."
Just like, when I first heard of Obama's middle name, I giggled, but didn't really think anything of it. I only really started making a point of saying when all the right people started shrieking like monkeys every time it gets said.

The Clintons will use "any means necessary" to chip away at BHO, and unless he is willing to pull out big guns against Hillary- And nothing I have seen thus far makes me think he will- then the Clintons will ultimately grind him down and break his support, and Hillary will be the nominee.
So the more interesting thing to think about now is: If this is how Hillary plays against Dem Messiah Obama, what kitchen sink does she have to throw against the evil republican McCain?
IMO he has innoculated himself from the Keating Five thing- and if she dares to bring that up, she opens up lots of Lincoln bedroom/Chinese fundraiser tea parties stuff.
The conventional wisdom is that you attack his greatest strength- but how do you attack someone for being a war hero. Especially when you are married to a draft dodger?
But I know they'll come up with something. Should be interesting.

I'm sure I'll be ridiculed for even mentioning his name, but Keith Olbermann's "Special Comment" last night focused on exactly these issues...basically 'screaming racism.' Does that count?
"Rodeo clown" seems much more accurate.

Those guys put themselves on the line to keep the riders from being harmed. I think of Olberman as a human howler monkey, flinging poo...

Clinton will be nominee.
Why? Because they are driving down Obama's GE numbers with these attacks. By the time the convention rolls around, it will show that Hillary matches up better against McCain in head to head polling. She will win the nomination on this fact alone.
I was telling every Republican to vote for Clinton in Ohio and Texas on Lucianne.com and took a lot of flak for it. Now events prove I have been correct.
every day is a goldmine of internecine liberal warfare. And the best thing for republicans in PA to do is register democratic and vote for Clinton. By the end of the spring- there will be blood everywhere..
Obama is Jimmy Carter- only without the sweater.
As painful as it may be to admit it the Republicans must do everything to stop Obama from winning the primary. Why? If Clinton does win the GE against McCain the very things the far-left loonies hate her for will ensure that at least her presidency won't destroy our nation. She is just too centrist and even right-leaning in her views on national defense and the economy for the 'let's just give it all to the poor' gang trying to stop her.
Some of the reasons so many on the left are trying to stop the Clintons: Pro-free market, signed welfare reform, left the damn economy alone and it prospered, willing to use military force against Saddam and other mad despots while supporting the AUMF and the Kyl-Lieberman vote, actually friends with McCain and Bush Sr. The loony-left want to force a San Francisco style of government on the US and Obama leads the way. Even taking the slightest chance of his winning the presidency would be a terrible disaster if it happens. Jimmy Carter would look like Teddy Roosevelt compared to him.
I disagree w/ supporting Clinton to keep the Dem train wreck going, even though it's fun to watch.
IMHO we are better facing Obama now that plenty damage has been done to his GE electability. What are we afraid of?
I think we have a better chance facing Obama than trying to rehash Clinton dirt. People are sick of Clinton dirt. They don't want to hear it. Even if there is new dirt they don't want to hear it. I don't want anyone to underestimate the Clinton machine. They should be finished off politically ASAP.
As long as this hot story continues, McCain will get little coverage and not gain much of a head start over the Dem nominee.
Ask not what I can do for my country, ask what my country can do for me. Washington Elected Elite
we all knew that.
I think we're seeing a trend where the media "battle lines" are not only hardening---they're being accepted by both sides as a de facto division.
Example: CNN/You Tube debate, replete with Democrats questioning Republican candidates. In the end, CNN shrugged it off. They really didn't care much about what Republicans---a demographic the MSM has written off---thought. So what if they were angry?
That brings me back to Erick's point above:
Were the GOP to do something like this, the media would be screaming racism. They will never, however, say that about the Clintons -- or at least not too loudly.
That observation won't shock the MSM. It won't make them be more fair. They've thought about it, and decided that they feel just fine about being "unfair" to conservatives.
If they really cared, they wouldn't keep doing this sort of thing. And, they keep doing this sort of thing.
Now, no one's denying the biases over there anymore. They're just going with them.
Which is, IMO, a good thing. We know where everyone stands, and no one is pretending anymore.
"Who will stand/On either hand/And guard this bridge with me?" (Macaulay)
The Willie Horton ads against Dukakis racist - though I believe if the murder had been white the ads would have had the same effect. I can see some in the MSM spin the racial divide in the democrat party as the fault of the GOP, in some twisted convolution. I do, however, think it's better in the long run for this to come out in the primary & not the general.

racist meme on two out of the three of these.
The ad was a purchased image and IMO went directly to his gross inexperience in the foreign policy arena. Very fair game, IMO.
You know how I feel about using his middle name. It is his name and since he so proudly attends a church that is all about the motherland, I think it is fair game as well. Remember, he has pride in his African heritage.
The darker image I will give you, if it was intentional. We will never know for sure. But the realist in us says it probably was.
Personally, I say keep it coming Hillary! I see this as a two-for-one special. Maybe we get rid of her and we expose some of the areas of Barack's life that he would rather keep private until Nov. 5.
Without ever spending a dime and allowing John McCain to be above it all.
