Who will be the traitors? Operation Chaos can still cause more chaos if the General wants.

It's been 300 days since Barack Obama deigned to set foot in Michigan. Michigan has 18 unpledged super delegates.

Florida has 13 super delegates who are uncommitted.

Obama, in addition to thumbing his nose at Michigan, has blocked Florida's delegates from being seated, despite a legitimate election with his name on the ballot. Obama could have worked with Hillary Clinton for a do-over. But he knew he'd lose both states so he sought to block them.

Which super delegates will be betray loyalty to their state and endorse Obama? Will Representatives Tim Mahoney or Allen Boyd stab Florida in the back? Mahoney had a hush-hush meeting with Clinton today. Maybe he'll be loyal to the state Obama peed on.

What about Senator Carl Levin and Representative Bart Stupak in Michigan? What about soon to be indicted (potentially) Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick? 300 days it has been since Obama gave their state any attention. And Obama continues to push environmental legislation that would harm Michigan's auto industry, not to mention his rah-rahing of protectionism while going to Canada to tell Canadians to ignore it; he didn't mean it.

Who will these super-delegates pick? The woman who paid their states the attention those sates were due? Or the man who thumbed his nose at them?

I'm particularly interested in seeing how Levin goes. Personally, I don't give two whits whether they seat Michigan delegates or not. What I do care about, however, is that taxpayer dollars went to pay for the Dems contest. If they're not going to use the results of that contest, they should refund the state of Michigan for the expense.

Not a snowball's chance in hell of that happening, but if the DNC was as interested in justice as it claims to be, it would do exactly that.

That request would mean by simpson316

that the state government really cared about wasting your money. Everything I have seen suggests otherwise.

The superdelegate decision process more likely will hinge on deciding which side your bread is buttered on.

And Rightly So!

Rush's statement today that the super delegates are released now to go for Obama was truly amazing in its' genius.

Every single super that does go for Obama now will be provide hours of chatter about their reasoning for doing so. After all, Operation Chaos told them to do so.

I know I'm just excited that the MSM will ask that question, and I know they won;t but this is the best democrat primary ever.

Democrats have no.... by wolfgang

...loyalty. Just look how quickly and completely they threw their country and the troops whose lives are at risk for it under the bus when it became politically expediant to spread sedition and subversion, treason and dishonor, hoping to undermine GWB and the Republicans.
They still have the unrelenting demands of their constituency to answer to, those who value safety above all else, those in the special caste created by LBJ, who once wronged by this country, feel that this country owes them their unlimited living and existance in perpetuity in return, and those who need the financial assistance of the state to exist with, and continue to spread their disease and lifestyle.

I'm going to have to disagree, Erick - it was the Florida legislature - including MOST of the Democrats - who both agreed to the rules originally, and voted to block alternative voting methods. Obama and his camp had nothing to do with the psychotic politics down here.

The fact is, Florida and Michigan were told what would happen if they moved our primaries up, and we did it anyway - to complain about facing consequence of actions seems disingenuous to me. I won't disagree that the DNC and Mr. Dean weren't complete idiots for making the threat in the first place, but it doesn't change the fact that WE were responsible the resulting chaos.

The meme that it is unfair to we, the voters, in Florida has got to stop. We walked in on primary day knowing our vote would not "count" in the primary - and the majority of us went in to vote anyway - primarily due to the property tax measure that was also on the ballot.

I think it's time that we took personal responsibility for this mess in Florida. We broke the rules, we faced the consequences. Period.

Hillary also agreed with her party late last year to strip Michigan and Florida of delegates if they moved their primary up, and also promised not to campaign in those states. All of this was done to pander to Iowa's and New Hampshire's traditions.

The entire primary system is busted, and there's nothing to stop this same mess from happening to Republicans either in the future. Imagine if Huckabee and McCain were about even with delegates through the early primaries. Would either of them drop out? Huckabee took forever to drop out even when he was way behind. I can't imagine it would be much different from the mess Democrats are in today (I didn't include Romney in that hypothetical because I cant believe he'd destroy his party just to get nominated)

In the past, early primary states decided nominations. It's usually over around Super Tuesday. In those cases, lots of voters are "disenfranchised" because they didn't get a chance to vote themselves.

There should be a national primary day. All states vote on same day.

Small quibble: by CrabCakes

No one, including Obama, has prevented Michigan's and Florida's delegates from being seated. The convention isn't until August, and the first (official) meeting on the matter isn't until May 31. At most one could claim that Obama refused to agree to the proposed terms of having a new election to determine prior to May 31 how many delegates from each will be seated.

Florida and Michigan will be seated in some manner or another. Their real punishment consists of their having no real say in who the nominee will be. Their delegates will be selected in a manner that ensures that they don't affect the outcome. In addition, since the precise number and composition of their delegations have been up in the air, they have not been included in the "horse-race" numbers, negating any psychological impact that they might have.

All that said, I don't know how Florida's and Michigan's superdelegates will go. I imagine that, like the rest of the superdelegates (even those who are already "declared" otherwise), they will end up voting for the winner.

Oh wow... I never thought of the super delegates from Michigan and Florida. If I was Clinton, I would be courting them!
