We could say in Cuba we have two parties: one led by Fidel and one led by Raul, what would be the difference?" he asked. "That's the same thing that happens in the United States ... both are the same. Fidel is a little taller than me, he has a beard and I don't.
--Raul Castro, claiming that Democrats and Republicans are as difficult to tell apart as he and his brother Fidel are.
The mind reels.

The democrats use the same rhetoric, Raul and Fidel use. I also note The democrats are just as happy to play down the issues.

As the President signed the Omnibus Spending Bill, he said
Congress dropped into the bill nearly 9,800 earmarks that total more than $10 billion. These projects are not funded through a merit-based process and provide a vehicle for wasteful government spending.
Our Republican Congresscritters may have helped themselves to a little less of the pot, this year ... but they sure as heck have been slopping at the trough for the last eight years.
So ... there's not much difference on that part of governing that measures easily: Count the Cash!
Absolutely correct--they govern the same, republicans give us good rhetoric on the social issues, nothing changes. Even some republicans are starting to mimic Al Gore and pay lip service to global warming--the legislation is sure to follow.
People are delusional not to see that there is some truth to what that scoundrel said about the democrats and republicans.
Ticked off aren't you ?

Like we haven't heard this before.
I'd take a guess at who this guy supports, but I simply cannot utter his name.

Actually Fred, and Rudy are my choices, but I'd hold my nose and vote for McCain or virtually anyone over Hillary or Obama. The only one I detest on a visceral, possibly irrational level is Edwards.
Yeah, kind of. I never thought a republican president would propose, push and pass a "no child left behind" program and a "prescription drug" program--I really thought we were for smaller government.(I don't mean to sound like a Paulite, but even a stopped clock....)
If you want to say that the republican congress was remiss in limiting the growth of government, there will be no argument brooked on my part.
If you go around saying they are the same as Democrats well, you don't understand what bad is.

Actually, the republican Congress was very effective at controlling spending--when Clinton was president.
Once they get in full power--Congress and the presidency--they try to buy off the voters just like the democrats.
I do point out that the result of their attempt to stay in power was their removal. One which I was initially upset about but wound up shedding not a tear over

With either the Libertarian Party or the Greens. Which, of course, he means a strong proponent of HWSNBN's campaign.
Socialist Cuba and the America envisioned by Edwards, Hillary and Obama.

Fidel must be the leader of the Terran Empire. All his subjects are wearing Agonizers.

There is an element of truth to what he says. The rhetoric of both parties sounds way different, but invariably, we get the same result(maybe a few insignificant changes around the fringes).
