Know When To Fold 'Em

This story speaks for itself when it comes to describing the state of domestic politics regarding Iraq:

Each day lately, Democrats inch closer to giving President Bush more money for the war in Iraq without any serious mandates for withdrawing U.S. troops.

Democratic leaders are loath to acknowledge they've backed off, but lawmakers from both sides of the aisle, as well as congressional aides, say Democrats are trying to find a way to provide continued troop funding while searching for some compromises that show they're still intent on challenging the president on the war.

The possible conditions for troop funding include anti-torture rules and benchmarks for Iraqi political reconciliation, language sure to upset an impatient Democratic anti-war base that wants immediate troop withdrawals.

According to one senior Democratic lawmaker, there's a growing discomfort among pro-defense Democrats about linking a $50 billion Iraq measure to troop withdrawal.

"We have to come off this lack of funding for the military operations," the lawmaker said. "We have to continue the funding. We don't want to look like we're against troop funding. ... We should separate the funding discussion from the rest of the war."

Tell me it ain't so! They have had their moments when they have spoken, in lock step, denigrating the integrity and intelligence of this President. They've had their MSM stooges propagate the egregious comments for years in their newspapers, magazines, TV shows and blogs. Yet, through all of that, the President has maintained his commitment to his tropps, the dignity of his office, his composure and rhetoric, returning fire when needed (not as often as I'd have liked), and then skillfully kicking their colletive asses so they are shown to be the cowardly morons they truly are. And the President did this while having every one of his agencies and departments saturated with whiney liberal bureaucrats interferring with his administration daily. I hope you sleep well tonite Messrs Reid, Murtha, Kennedy, Obey, Emanuel, and Madames Pelosi, Boxer and Murphy - but you won't sleep as well as the winner. Here, here Mr. President.

Someday when Bush fatigue by swamp_yankee

Someday when Bush fatigue has faded and we've had a few more politicians to put through the ringer, I hope history treats this man kindly and conservatives will give him his due. That time is not now as it is time for healthy cleansing and a new vison, but Bush is vastly under-rated and a true patriot and gentelman.

Democrats cut and run by 10ksnooker

How many times does this make? They have developed cut and run to an art form. I suppose it's tied to the funding they get from their friends. When the cookie jar is filled they cut and run, until next time.

What it must be, to be a used liberal.

This 110th Congress is an absolute disgrace, with the exception of those who are standing up and fighting the insanity that flows so freely. Pelosi has proven that she is no more of a leader than Kermit the Frog is and Dirty Harry just keeps proving that he's an inept, addle-brained, doofus.
