Them Targetted Dems

How are the Freshman Democrat Blue Dogs doing? These are the men and women who beat Republicans in Republican leaning seats and promised to be Republicans without the corruption. Well, Robert Novak has a report card.

Thus far, Gabrielle Giffords, Harry Mitchell, Joe Donnelly, Brad Ellsworth, Nancy Boyda, Heath Shuler, Charlie Wilson, Chris Carney, Jason Altmire, and Nick Lampson have disappointed. In fact, Lampson failed to vote on either the GOP proposed budget or the Democrat budget. And sadly, Gabrielle Giffords, Nancy Boyda, Chris Carney, and Jason Altmire voted in lock step with the Democrats from embryo killing research to eliminating the secret ballot in the workplace.

Chris Carney, whose district gave Bush 60% of its vote and Nick Lampson whose district gave Bush 64% of its vote have both voted in lock step with Nancy Pelosi on every issue, other than Lampson bailing on budget votes.

As Robert Novak notes

By winning a term in 2006 to represent a Republican district, each of the Democratic moderate freshmen earned two years to convince GOP voters that Democrats can look after their interests just as well as Republicans. But to the extent that each votes and thinks Democratic, each also risks a short career that could be over as soon as 2008.

over the New Democrats, the smokescreen on their behalf.
The democrats are a collectivist and power grubbing party so the new faces are really the same old faces. This is sad proof of the importance of the media to a party that knows only one way, has only one answer to any problem,[dafedralguvmint], and tolerates no variance.

Fed crap by the media the people who regard their news as carved in stone truth voted the way they were told to vote and followed orders like good little lemmings. They deserve what they get, others don't but that's how it goes.

Meanwhile chortling, snickering, and ignorant self satisfaction abound in the news offices among the ranks of that under educated class of monomaniacs, America Haters, and general all around boobs, the propagandists known as journalists.

This seems like an opportunity for enterprising videographers to make some ads online and send them around to RS and local bloggers. Freshman Congressman are not "defined" in their districts yet. It seems like that defining could be a role for bloggers.

But Erick beat me to it. This was entirely predictable. Anyone one actually believed these "blud dogs" would break with their leadership on key votes regarding taxes, unions, spending, etc. has another thing coming. These guys could (and should) have very short legislative careers given the conservative districts they represent. It is the duty of bloggers and other grassroots activists to hold them to EVERY SINGLE VOTE they cast. The voters in those districts will respond.

Kudos to the folks who run stayredkansas.com. Let's hope Nancy Boyda is a "one-and-done". We need a site like this in Indiana. The Dems stole three seats in that red state by masquerading as conservatives.

Are you trying to tell me that Heath Shuler, who was highly touted coming into the big leagues, is not living up to expectations in Washington? Somewhere I've seen this movie before (just ask Redskin fans).

Some of these Democrats like Donnelly, Shuler, Wilson and Altmire sit in districts that have huge Democratic registration advantages. They are not going anywhere. The Bush percentages in the districts are also decieving. In 1994, most of the seats that Republicans captured were in districts that Bill Clinton won in both 1992 and 1996.
