MORNING UPDATE:

MICHIGAN DEMOCRATS...get full delegation with half voting rights. A "fair" deal given what happened and a sad end to an entertaining, damaging intra-party squabble. My guess...once Obama officially secures the nomination, he restores 100% of the voting rights, trying to unite their party heading into the fall election.

EVANS & NOVAK ELECTORAL COLLEGE MAP...looking very doable and they say: "Michigan may be McCain's best chance to win a 2004 Blue State."

Thousands of Republicans gathered in Lansing…ready to take on the Democrats this November. You could feel the excitement in the air!

Delegates from across the state were elected and will be confirmed today to participate at the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis over the Labor Day weekend.

We will hear from Senator John McCain, First Lady Janet Huckabee, Newt Gingrich, Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land, Attorney General Mike Cox and others!!!

MORNING UPDATE:

Final numbers are in and based on the fact that Mitt Romney won 13 of 15 congressional districts, John McCain won 2 and Huckabee qualified for at-large delegates by getting 16% of the statewide vote and we calculated the following allocation:

Romney: 45
McCain: 10
Huckabee: 2

I received a whole lot of questions on how Governor Romney won Michigan and if there were some “untold” stories that folks were missing. Not really, I think it was very straight forward:
