First Cobra Civil War
Posted at 3:34pm on Jun. 24, 2008 The coveted Bill Clinton's spokesman's statement of support for Obama email.
Glorious.

Via Tommy Christopher of Political Machine comes this... simply, this:
"President Clinton is obviously committed to doing whatever he can and is asked to do to ensure Senator Obama is the next president of the United States," Clinton's spokesman Matt McKenna told Reuters in a one-sentence e-mail.
Let us take a moment to examine this statement. I find it to be a deeply cynical exercise in political double-speak. I also find it to be a easily deniable piece of semantic-free fluff. I further find it to be a marvel of legalistic evasion that seeks to evoke the letter of a position while blithely evading its spirit - and if anything in these three statements are contradictory, well, the text itself aspires to a paradoxical state where it means nothing and everything simultaneously, thus allowing the reader to define whatever he or she chooses to. It is in fact a Rorschach made of pure, flavorless pap - but yet, it somehow seems to glory in that status.
In other words, it is precisely like the Obama primary campaign, and is thus all the response that the junior Senator from Illinois deserves.
Well played, former President Clinton. Well played, sir.

Posted at 11:20pm on Jun. 11, 2008 Better to nestle a viper to your bosom*, Senator Obama. [UPDATED]
James Carville! Why will you not use your powers for *GOOD*?
By Moe Lane
Update: Via Hot Air, a video made of awesome.
Or are you? You are, after all, one of Hillary's... let's just say "one of Hillary's" and leave it at that; probably not best to rock that particular boat right now**. Anyway, via Ben Smith:
Former Clinton aide James Carville suggested on CNN just now that Obama offer Al Gore the vice presidential nomination.
"I think if I was Senator Obama I would say the biggest economic problem we face is the biggest national security problem and the biggest environmental problem. And if I were him, I would ask Al Gore to serve as his vice president, his energy czar, in his administration to reduce our consumption and reliance on foreign energy sources," he told Wolf Blitzer.
Ben - who seems to have been just the slightest bit soured on the entire Obama thing (good job, Ben Smith comments section! Damn good job!), goes on to note:
I'm not sure James Carville -- with whom Obama had a public spat -- is the first person whose advice he's going to take, though come to think of it there is an open slot on the vetting committee today.
Considering the advice that Carville's giving: why, yes, please put him in that slot, Senator Obama.
Please***.

You don't deserve thanks...

...for confusing what you'd do if you were us for what we'll do; particularly when it comes to using graphic 9/11 imagery to get John McCain elected. While I think that the footage from that day should be more public, it's not so that my Party can win elections. It's so that my country is reminded who we're currently at war with. Save your contempt for your bathroom mirror.
That being said, the video below is perhaps not a little diagnostic of what topics might alarm the Left; and far be it from me to interfere with a group so determined to launch a full-fledged political civil war, particularly when their utter collapse would be a net benefit for the United States of America. So check it out for that, at least:
See also Instapundit, Hot Air, and The Tiger at Home. And, just remember, Democrats: should Obama win the nomination, you'll be relying on people like the guy who put this together to help the junior Senator from Illinois get elected President in November.
Have a nice day.

Guess who's not going gently into that good night?
That's right! Senator Hillary Clinton! She has a new website up! And it's not the website of a woman planning to just quit after the Texas primaries, either:
As more voters make their choice for the Democratic nomination, there is growing interest in the facts and myths about the race to reach 2208 delegate votes - the number required for a candidate to secure the nomination with Florida and Michigan included. The Obama campaign is claiming, without precedent or justification, that automatic delegates (commonly referred to as "super delegates") should switch to Sen. Obama en masse based on arbitrary metrics, with the aim of tilting the delegate balance in his favor. The fact is: no automatic delegate is required to cast a vote on the basis of anything other than his or her best judgment about who is the most qualified to be president.
Thank God I don't have a webcam. The manic glint in my eye would scare small dogs (although my son thinks it's the funniest thing ever, apparently).
