This is sickening. Barack Obama, on the campaign trail, said his uncle helped liberate Auschwitz. He then said

“Now obviously, something had really affected him deeply, but at that time there just weren’t the kinds of facilities to help somebody work through that kind of pain,” Obama said. “That’s why this idea of making sure that every single veteran, when they are discharged, are screened for post-traumatic stress disorder and given the mental health services that they need – that’s why it’s so important.”

Look, we all know Obama has a problem with Jewish voters and veterans, but trying to use the Holocaust for political gain is sickening -- especially when it is a bold faced lie.

Obama might also want to reflect on Gerald Ford's 1976 declaration about Poland being "independent and autonomous." In addition to his shameless use of the holocaust for political gain, he does not know his history.

Auschwitz is in Poland. It was liberated by the Soviets on January 27, 1945, not by Americans. Obama's uncle was either part of the Red Army or Obama is, again, lying for political advantage. Given what we know already about Obama, either option is plausible, but I'm going with this being another lie.

What's worse is that he is using the freaking Holocaust to both ingratiate himself with Jewish voters and veterans while using the lie to justify expanding a federal program.

For months now we've seen Obama lie through his teeth to pander to voters. The media has not once called him on it. Will they now that he has brought the holocaust into his lies? Will they now that he stoops this low to pander to Jewish voters?

Its no longer about Obama having no shame. This man has no class.

We'll skip over the blatant misogyny for the moment*.

Ed Morrissey gives us some context on Reverend Wright, which is only surprising in that the reverend seems to be especially worked up about, of all things, the success of a sports star:

For every one Tiger Woods, who needs to get beat, at the Masters, with his cap, blazin’ hips playing on a course that discriminates against women. God has his way of bringing you up short when you get to big for your cap, blazin britches. For every one Tiger Woods, we got 10,000 black kids who will never see a golf course.

Mind you, Mr. Woods actually tries to do something about that. Which may, in fact, be the problem here: or at least, the way that he's going about doing it. Flipping through the foundation pages, I saw quite a bit about making a positive change and nothing at all about blaming other people for one's problems. Go figure, huh?

Ed references the First Rule of Holes in his tease-quote. Senator Obama's supporters should start hoping that someone in his campaign has the audacity to read Hot Air.
