By Erick
John Boehner, Roy Blunt, and the House GOP leadership, having failed to deal decisively and boldly to purge the cancer that is Don Young from the House GOP Caucus, got to witness him vote to raise taxes today. He joined 31 other Republicans who have no real leaders to show them the way.
The tax increase is a .5% increase on individuals who make more than $500,000.00 a year. The Democrats, naturally, called it a "Patriot Tax." They should have called it what it is: the "Rape the Entrepreneurial Class Tax Law" or RECTAL.
You know, I think we, all of us here at RedState, should commit to a project: every work day from now until he is crushed in the primary, write some bad about Don Young. Highlight his arrogance, highlight his scandals, highlight his votes, highlight his corruption, highlight his general jackassery -- highlight all the stuff to make sure when people are Googling him, they find out everyone hates Don Young except Don Young and a bunch of people in the federal pen.
By the way, the Club for Growth PAC put out a press release on this. Yes, they *do* get involved in primaries, Don Young.

Talk about mixed signals. Yesterday while Jennifer Granholm jubilantly touted the promise of several thousand new jobs in the Kalamazoo area made possible by a giant M.E.G.A. tax break and while media outlets across the State highlighted the role reduced taxes played in making the new jobs possible the Democrats were back in Lansing trying to scuttle a tax relief package aimed at aiding thousands of additional businesses across the State.

Posted at 8:08am on Nov. 26, 2007 A new work week and the same old worries in Michigan

Welcome back to a semi-normal work week. Is there anything worse than a Monday morning after a long weekend with friends and family? Don't answer that, I'm sure there is... it's just hard to think of anything this early in the morning. Heck, if your football team blows a fourteen point lead with seven minutes in the game while they held the ball in the opponents territory in spite of some of the shoddiest officiating in the NFL to date and then comes all the way back to lose in overtime... that's worse. But that's neither here nor there (and I'm only slightly bitter).
Only slightly more important to a few more people is what's going on here in the state of Michigan as we close in rapidly on the January 15th Presidential Primary and are now only about eleven months from electing a new House of Representatives.
Read on.
